Blog Post #10: The age of AI

The New Age Of AI

When watching the video, In the age of AI, this video really shows me how advanced technology really is nowadays. AI is getting so much more advanced and getting to the point where it is even taking people's jobs. With the invention of AI, we are also losing human creativity because there are so many different algorithms and ways someone can write and yet the AI system can do all of it.

Some takeaways I watched during the video that stuck out to me where things like how you know what AI's going to do or what their response will be. How do these AI generated systems have so many different types of human responses and yet how does it know how to gather what information we need. AI is going to take a lot of jobs in the future, and it is scary because AI can do just as good as a human, or even better. My mom works in Trade, and I know one way that it affects her already is that she has moved entirely to an online entity to track her accounting. AI is doing this for her day by day in real time, making it easier to track what she is doing, but also looking at this from the other side, now the accountant is out of her job. Looking back to a few years ago, it was thought to be near impossible to replace the people that come inside your homes and fix things, but in today's day and age, it is a real possibility. AI has become a good thing because we are so advanced nowadays, it helps us keep up also while having solutions to many problems.

It has become pretty frightening how AI has become so human-like. I think it's really good to put into perspective because with the good there is also the bad. I think it is very important we find a way that AI can help with jobs but not completely erase them. One more concern I have with AI is privacy. With AI being so intelligent though, Will the computers end up getting to know us better than we know ourselves. In the next few years, AI is going to blow up and it is going to be one of the biggest ways we access information. Now we just need to take steps to regulate it, so it doesn't hurt us in the future.
