Blog Post #7: Antiwar

 ANTIWAR

In today's modern age it is very hard to find strong anti-war arguments on the internet because the government has so much access to censorship nowadays. The government tries to make war look positive when it is only there to benefit their side of things. This makes me question the information we do get. This makes me question the information we do get because how do we know if it is biased or not. Is the government only feeding us information we want us to hear.

This has become extremely prevalent, especially in recent times because of the rise of media and how we use our mobile devices to grab current information. With that, there is also the rise of fake news and how to watch out for this type of media. When we have war in our country, it does not just affect the soldiers, but it affects everyone around us. Civilians will end up getting taxed more and have to pay more of their hard-earned money to the government. The government takes our money and pumps it into unnecessary things, especially in times like war. Looking at the war we've put ourselves into today, Russia v. Ukraine, has become a severe problem out in the middle east. This war doesn't really involve us, yet we have sent troops and over a few billion dollars to help Ukraine and everything that has been sent being funded by U.S tax dollars.

When I was looking on the Internet, I could not find a single article on why this war was bad or viewpoints on why we should not be in the war in the first place. One reason may be because in today's modern age media sites and what is uploaded to things such as Google is all filtered media, which will only show up with what it wants you to see compared to showing you all the viewpoints there may be on a topic or war.War is never a good thing and if it is preventable, then we should be trying to prevent it at all costs. We could have saved a lot of lives and money if we looked at these things before putting ourselves in the middle of them.
